I guess the UI is simple but for 200 bucks, why not get the kindle fire instead with better specs. I'm sure kids could figure that out as well.

I think it's because of the Fooz University thing, which is an expensive service but appears to be bundled for free here.

I'd like to see how long it lasts before it's owner breaks it.

That's my concern as well. Being "for kids" means it would pretty much need to be a ToughBook turned Pad.

Hopefully it is, because if it's durable then this would be perfect for getting young'n's started on computers; I would get it for my friend's kid in a heartbeat so long as it could hold up.

Meh, the main reason kids break DS's is because of the shoddy way the hinge mechanism is put together. So long as the screen's got a decent layer of plastic over it (kids don't seem to get touch screens and are far better at jabbing them) It shouldn't be that easy to break.

Parents should realize that the American Pediatrics Association recommends ZERO screen time for kids under two and a daily MAXIMUM of two hours for older kids. This includes TV. In other words, this gadget is completely inappropriate for younger kids and must be heavily monitored for older ones.We risk raising a generation of fat, intellectually lazy future adults.

This is probably a cheap 80$ chinese tablet with Red Rubber thingy around it!
And as for the custom interface to make it easy for kids will only make kids dumber! 1080p video support is no good unless it has an HDMI out like most chinese tabs.

Now that's just silly. A two year old wouldn't know what to do with this so that's pretty much irrelevant. And two hours? for how much older, older kids? I do not for one second believe TV leads to fat, stupid kids. Poor diets and a lack of activity and mental stimulation is the cause of that. Just because bad parents think TV is an alternative to parenting doesn't mean TV is bad for a child.
