article published on 12 November, 2011

Yet they're still too lazy and cheap to integrate dedicated servers to console versions.

So much for the idea that piracy keeps people from purchasing.

Same game, same engine, different scenarios. No doubt there will be upcoming map packs and soon your in to the same game for another 100 bucks. They are sure learning how to get mileage out of the same old sh*t. It's like mice chasing around a stinkier piece of cheese through a slightly different maze.

It's laughable when an industry group tries to play that card. In a world where movies hit the $1 billion sales mark once a year and games can make $400 million revenue in a day it is blatantly clear that if you put out GOOD CONTENT, people will pirate it AND BUY IT.

Well I'm not sure you can say MW3 is good content. It's same game different graphics (not even better graphics), but I'll go as far as saying give the people what they want and they will buy it. Never really got into FPS much but own a few. I was more excited about Elder Scroll V: Skyrim than this game. Really looking forward to Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. I hope involving R.A. Salvatore makes for an awesome story line

I think they're making DLC every month for 9 months starting in 2012.

...But such obvious facts won't stop them from blaming piracy for the failure of the next $500,000,000 flop.

The alphabet Nazis have said that pirating this content produces more revenue than the drug trade. Then what does that say about them?

Not to sound like a broken record it's the other way around, there have been numerous industry articles mentioning people who download illegally are more likely to buy more of than those who do not,so their biggest customer base are pirates...lol..

@ DVDBack23
As for movies the ten highest illeagaly downloaded movies of all time are also the highest grossing of all time..what does that say about their claims piracy is hurting the industry, lets be honest how many decent original movies came out every year, very few! most are rehashes of older movies & now they're have mental blocks they have to start brining comic books to life to make up the shortfall..lol..

Seriously this guy wants to talk about beating star wars and lord of the rings. If my research is right the original star wars sold 162,827,328 tickets so by simple math we can state that it made 9,769,639,680 in total going at $60 bucks a ticket so Activision CEO Bobby Kotick STFU! Sorry guys but i really dislike stupid comments like his. So when MW3 make that much then they can brag.

BUT, movie tickets aren't $60 and the argument could be made (strong argument) that Star Wars would not have sold anywhere near 162,827,328 tickets at that price.

They want to be the first industry in the history of mankind that is immune to theft. With a mere stripping of rights and ridiculous penalties, maybe they'll get there. A lot of "ex" corporate execs are helping draft legislation as we speak.
