I just got 1 question about "Dvd Shrink, Clone DVD & DVD+R discs

If I use Elby's Clone DVD to burn a +R DVD it works on
my LG DVD-Rom DRD8160B
(which doesn't support +R format)

But If I use DVD Shrink 3.1.7 to burn the same +R DVD & try it on the same drive it wont even read the disc.

Why is this happening & which copy should I keep & which should I throw away (
clone dvd's copy or DVD Shrinks) ??

Both copies work on my standalone DVD Player

(is it possible that elby clone dvd writes it wrong thinking that its a -R disc when its really a +R ?
Does it write it in the wrong format or is DVD Shrink making a copy that wont work on the -R only drive??

What are you using with Shrink? Shrink doesn't burn on it's own.

Hmmm... I've never seen this. Under "backup!" I've seen the option to Launch DVD Decrypter.

Don't get me wrong you do need Nero or Decrypter to burn. But to enable burning with Nero you need to: Open shrink, click edit then preferences, under "File I/O" tab you check the box to Enable burning with Nero.

Keep them both. You're going to run across some DVDs you'll want to re-author. This isn't impossible with CloneDVD but with Shrink you can put the movie / clips in a specific order you prefer. CloneDVD lists them by size.

You can re-author w/ Shrink and still use CloneDVD as your burning tool.

What version of Nero do you have?

i need help

i use clonedvd2 to copy dvd's too big to fit on a blank, so its compressed. but when i play these copies on my dvd player, half way through it stops playing. but on my mums dvd player it works perfectly fine. so, is this something that only happens with clonedvd2 or whenever you have to compress a dvd(whatever program you use) or is it my dvd writer(+r).

help please thanx.

nah theres no confusion. clonedvd2 (elby) don't work on my dvd player and clone dvd (clonedvd.net) always works. but i think i'm gonna start using DVD Shrink to fit the dvds on a blank instead of clonedvd2.

I have gotten the cyclic redundancy message a few times in the past month.
Can someone explain it, how to get around it? and back up the DVD. I know it is a way to chech data being transferred but am not sure what to do in backing up a DVD movie?

CRC error usually means a scratched or dirty disc. Try cleaning it. Or, use a different program to try to rip it.
