i have installed prassi primo and when i start program it says no dvd installed on this machine.
Is there any update drivers i can install so dvd will be reconised.
I have a pioneer dvd rw dvr106d

It may just be that you need a newer version of the px burning engine (used by Primo/RecordNow) that recognizes your drive. I haven't updated mine for a long time so I can't tell you for sure where to get one, but you can Google 'px burning engine update' and you should be able to find it.
