Hi all I've recently tried to burn a bin file using the latest version of nero and alcohol. Both times when I insert the svcd into my dvd player I see the movie but its moving as if in slow motion and choppy. Also the sound is really distorted. Only when I hit my fast forward button will it kinda go normal and the sounds come out normal. This happens to both of my vcd I burned using both Nero and Alcohol. Hope someone can help me out and thanks in advance...

which cd-r are you using and at what speed are you writing at.

I've used PNY and TDK....and I've burned them at 8x...also tried another one at 4x since I thought that might be the problem..same result

Well Many DVD Player will Not Properly Play VCD/SVCD"s if there Bitrate is too high and you will get Jumpy Playback and the audio cuts out...
I can"t tell you How many SVCD"s I made that turned out this way when watching on my DVD Player...Some DVD Players could play the disk but not mine...
Maybe try useing a Mpeg encoder that has better bitrate controll like the MainConcept encoder or CCE SP cuz Nero and Tmpgenc both have bd Bitrate controll so the bitrate spikes over the Max SVCD Bitrate which is causes the Choppy Playback, Or better yet Burn your SVCD Files to a DVD-R and then they should play better..Every one should have a DVD burner these days as you can buy one for $39......

Ok newbie question...I do have a dvd burner and dvd-r disks..how do i go about burning the VCD onto a dvd-r disk?

To burn VCD files to DVD you first have to make the VCD Files DVD compliant which entails first De-Mutliplexing the VCD Files into seperate audio and Video files useing Tmpgenc"s "Mpeg Tools" then you just use TMPGEnc to re-encode Just the audio to 48000hz and after the audio is 48000hz you just use a DVD authoring Program like "Tmpgenc DVD Author" to Put the VCD video file and the Resampled 48000hz Audio file on to DVD-R...
You can Fit up to 4 Full VCD movies on each DVD doing this method...
