.XXX porn domains now live

article published on 6 December, 2011

As of 11 AM, over 100,000 .XXX websites are live, ushering in a new "era" of porn. After a decade of debates, the new top-level domain went public this year, allowing companies to have porn-only addresses. Says the ICM registry (company behind handing out domains): The Internet is home to a wealth of content, suitable for a wide range of ages and values. The adult entertainment ... [ read the full article ]

"The Internet is home to a wealth of content, suitable for a wide range of ages and values. The adult entertainment industry has, and always will, account for a large amount of this content and while it is enjoyed by some, it is not suitable, or of interest, to all Internet users.

Regardless of your views on adult content, it's here to stay, so let's be adult about it."

Well I just want to give a big thanks for making porn harder to find with the xxx thing. I'm sure you threw everyone off the scent with that one.
And with all the resistance around it, who would have thought the .xxx domain would come to fruition? God bless America...

Well... If age were the only barometer for being an adult I should have 'almost' passed that at least 3 times now (if 18 is the legal definer)... That being said, most folks that read my drivel would also have broken both pinky finger trying to be the first to type the first retort dispelling what I just wrote...

If this format had been practiced in the past, firewalls could have been in place in schools & churches so that kids & beer drinking baptists wouldn't get into trouble in their respective places. Granted, a motivated Marine & his rifle will always find his way, but you get the idea.

It's like I said in another forum her at AD, when I went to rag at the White House & typed in whitehouse(dot)com (forgetting that there is such a thing as a [dot]gov strictly for government sites) you can imagine my less than jovial surprise at the website I arrived at to complain about my country's current state of affairs. Rather than the oxymoron you can make out of that sentence, which it turned out to be.

Personnally, I applaud the [dot]xxx and humbly offer my services for the naming of such sites. My rates are quite reasonable.

porn is really messes people up. It gives people, men in particular, this false idea of what real beauty, love, and sex really is. It reduces a woman down to only parts and as a means of only sexual gratification or release rather than real intimacy.

Porn is really a bad thing.

@redcape... I can certainly see/understand your case, but without trying to start an argument or WW3, the act of coitus (just the act of sex in the animal kingdom & we're all animals) is 'not' really an act based purely on the principles of intimacy. That's a human concept cultivated & nurtured over the last few hundred years. Up until relatively recently, women weren't even allowed to enjoy sex. To this day in some African cultures it is deemed that way still.

I'm not saying it is an excuse for porn, but I've never seen a guy want to start a fight or blow something up after "taking matters into his/her own hands" from watching a bit of pornography.

Maybe if the tight assed Taliban & Afghans would oggle some porn, loosen their knobs up a few times, treat their women with respect & behave professionally in the world theater people would take them more seriously and there "would" be milk & bread for their children. But you can't explain that to them.

I'll have you know that I am from Afghanistan and my wife is from Africa. I find your statement to be very much offensive and now I want to blow something up and take all the milk and bread away from everyone.

Ha! I am only kidding. I am Russian. My wife is from Australia. There is a great book out there called "Porn Again Christian" and it talks about Porn, Christianity and some other stuff. It is good for reading and making sense of it all.

I'll take your word for it. Meanwhile there are some red state porn sites that want me to put some porn-spin names out for sale.
