Verizon and Motorola announce 2 new Android tablets

Motorola Mobility and Verizon have announced two new Android tablets, the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and DROID XYBOARD 8.2, featuring a 10.1 inch and 8.2 inch display respectively.
The tablets will ship with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), but upgrades to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) are planned for some point in the future.

What no quad core :( although IR is pretty cool, especially if it has a learning mode.

What is the problem with the crappy cameras they put on these things?Its not like there some top secret technology anymore.And they probly cost less then ten bucks to make the little camera.
If its got tits tires or electronics its gonna give ya problems

I think the mantra is as the forward facing camera is only used for short range shorts (normally web chat) which normally only runs a low res its not worth bestowing them with a higher pixel count would not make as much sense as putting a better CCD into the rear facing camera. That said your right there cant be a lot of price between the costs of the CCDs compared with the overall production cost of the device.

So why is this priced more than the transformer prime or iPad for that matter? I don't really see the incentive for this mid tier tablet.

Good F-ing lord! either of these things was more than a down payment on a new car! I could get the new Samsung 4 core jobby from a rent-a-joint on a 2 year deal & feel more room in my keister than this. I really have to find my buddy over at Verizon & get him to spill the beans on the government supplier for the weed these guys are smoking because it is literally nuclear reactive!

And I always thought prior to this that if you were to get the literal shaft up the ol' bunghole that this was bad enough but I realize now that it would depend on how much the rapist jammed in you. Yeah, I flat out refuse to buy any product that plays this game with $100 price increases for incremental doubling of memory. Its fucking ridiculous and needs to stop. And these tech corporations are all guilty of it. Thats why I havent bought any Apple products in years cuz they wont make something that lets you upgrade your own memory. You should check out the prices of the new PROPRIETARY memory that the new Sony PSP VITA is going to have. Read about it here on AfterDawn. They took this shite to a whole new level. And they can take it up theirs from now on. At least M$ got the message and got rid of the proprietary only memory for their XBOX 360.

Glad to be there for you! Certainly glad to see you get my sense of humor. I know I rant, but it's never really meant to hurt anyone's feelings.
This business model of "what the market will bear" caca de' toro" has got to stop & I mean now. Just cause a guy can afford 1 hamburger at $3 doesn't mean he's going to show up & buy one every day at that. But sell that same hamburger at $1 & not only will he show up every day, but the poor guy that couldn't afford one at all show up once a week finally show up to buy one, but the rich asshole that never buys hamburgers (or gets everybody to buy his hamburgers for him because that's what rich bastards do) starts showing up. Now by sheer volume your hamburger joint is blisteringly rich.
Plus you hired a few people & made them happy cause they have a job & all the other kudos that goes with them spending money in the grand scheme of our economy. THAT'S the real "trickle down effect", but you don't hear about that plan from the politicians.
