$99 TouchPads are back, in one-day sale on eBay

On Sunday, starting at 6 PM Central Time, HP will be selling refurbished 16GB and 32GB TouchPads on their eBay store.
The devices will sell for $99 and $149 just like they did on the firesale days of a few months ago.
Additionally, the company will be selling a $79 accessory bundle which has the wireless keyboard, charging dock and a case.

I hope I can get one this time. A lot of dumb people bought out all these things and don't even use them. I read more them 10 comments on other sites where people just have them laying around the house.

My wife and I both got one last time and she uses it from time to time... I honestly use it more as a digital photo frame myself. For $99 i definitely feel i got good value for money, but they are still just toys and not nearly as useful as a regular laptop, so i usually opt to take that on trips instead.

I can say that mine being used as a digital photo frame has been on all the time for several months, no issues.
My wife takes hers with her all the time, just thrown in her purse, and she has had no problems.
My sister-in-law got one too though and let her 9 and 8 year olds play with it (something i wouldn't personally recommend)... it had a cracked screen and other issues within 2 days. So it isn't exactly "rugged", but then it's not advertised as being such.

I know they won't take returns for crummy products because I bought a printer from them that couldn't do the things advertised on the box and they refused to give me a refund. One of my coworkers also bought a laptop from them that came loaded down with crap to the point that it took about 5 minutes to start and was very slow...they also refused to issue a refund for that.
So, if they were not returned because users were unhappy with them, they could only come from failed units or floor models.

I'm not taking that as a valid enough source. You always have some problem with every company out there and I've heard some stories that the AD community finds hard to believe such as your Verizon not replacing your broken under warranty phone. You're either not telling us everything or lying.

They are great for reading, as well as games, pictures, music, movies. If you went into the purchase thinking you were getting a laptop replacement then you should not have made the purchase.

Go look at the refurbs on Apple's site, or any other company who sells B stock. Same deal, different company.

Just for anyone who was sorry they missed out on the $99 fire sale.... DON'T BE, i was sitting here patiently waiting for the sale to start and I though, lets just look if they are listed yet..
OHHHH LOOK WHAT A CON, $99 + the other $400 Dollars, ok the sale has not started yet, but looks like there is no $99 tablets, HP have listed them as $499 for the 16GB and $599 for the 32GB.
$99 Dollers and now $499 dollars, really HP good luck in the future whilst you burn in hell !!
Whos going to pay that prices when they can have it for $300 bucks off other sellers... looks like all the staff bough them up so they could make a packet selling them on later on in private sales. (Exactly what happened in September !!)
So to save face, rather than list nothing, HP decides to list them all at a crazy price that no one in their right mind will pay and tells staff if they will sell they will pay them $$$ and buy them back.
At least that would be my guess at what just happened.
UPDATE:
HP appear to have only listed 4 (3 x 32GB and 1 x 16GB) it does not show level available on each one, just says limited stock..! (something ive never seen) so im guessing limited stock probably means 1!
Without counting the auctions on ebay for touchpads (just BIN) there is at least 41 other Touchpads selling at a cheaper price than HP's not so HOT the fire has gone out sale.
Who ever in HP though they could drum up interests to save webos in the last board meeting is VERY wrong, im pretty sure as soon as a 100% stable android ports there will be virtually no one running webos on a touchpad and people were not interested in the touch pad name, more the fact it was $99.

Ok looks like there was more than 4.. but still why are people pay $499 for a 16GB model when they can have a 32GB model from other sellers at a cheaper rate ?? GO FIGURE !!!

HaHa this is making me laugh so hard im crying, people are paying the price.
I wonder if anyone is actually looking at the price, im looking at it and thinking you could get a Motorola zoom for $150 bucks less or a Lenovo Ideapad for $180 bucks less have a full years warranty and virtually the same spec... people are going to wake up tomorrow and realise they should have read the price first before hitting the BIG OLD BUY NOW button... HAHA
I cant wait to see what other people make of this farce in the cold light of day.

Since posting the story ( the price dropped to $99 over the last few minutes )
And the original item number link stopped working....!! im guessing someone in HP noticed they were making a killing.
No shipping outside the USA, which i think is pretty poor.
So HP what happens to all those poor fools that hit by it now at the extra high price ?? !! i counted up well over 100 of them.
UPDATE: appears the 16gb sold out with 2,316 sold at the moment 32gb are still showing for sale with about 2100 sold at this time.
