Verizon Galaxy Nexus coming tomorrow

article published on 15 December, 2011

Verizon finally gives an official release date for the first Ice Cream Sandwich device. The carrier will sell the device for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Outside of being the first smartphone to have the official Android 4.0, the Galaxy nexus will have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with 1280x768 resolution and dual cameras 1.3/5 ... [ read the full article ]

What I find amazing is that they are charging $299.99 for the phone and it's locked in to a two year contract. I picked up a sg2 just after it was released for free on a two year contract in the uk. The only real difference is that we pay around two or three dollars more per month for the contract, but that still doesn't add up to $299.99...

So........once again, Verizon offers a jacked up 70 dollar plan that no doubt has only like 450 minutes. Oh how I hate Verizon first and ATT second.

***3 minutes later..................

OMFG......I was right:

Anytime Minutes Monthly Access Overage
450 $39.99 45¢/Minute
900* $59.99 40¢/Minute
Unlimited $69.99

And Verizon stops all data at 2GB. T-mobile slows down and I ran well over my 2GB just last week and was still able to stream music.

So, with Verizon, over the course of a year, on a comparable package to T-Mobile's; 69.99(voice only) + 30.00(data only) + 20.00(unlimited text only) = 119.00/month.

X 12 months = 1428/year + 299.00(phone purchase) = 1728.00 TOTAL.

Holy F'ing Sh*t!!!!!

I pay 59.99 straight up for everything. X 12 months = 719/year

1000 dollar savings...........I could take one Helluva vacation for that savings.

Screw Verizon and poor dumb bastards who patronize them simply because they have "the best network" when most don't even leave their metropolitan area. Sheeple!

the data doesn't stop, they actually just start charging again, and if you are on a unlimited plan they throttle you on 3g after 2GB

hey only problem is that a lot of people still don't have the coverage on T-Mobile like Verizon, granted I'm with Verizon and while theri customer service sucks ass at least I know that I can get reliable coverage with 3G even in the most remote areas of the US as long as their is a reliable tower nearby and guaranteed LTE service in most metro areas of the US. That being said, I absolutely agree with you in terms of how ridiculously high Verizon's service charges are. Then again, you get what you pay for I guess, even if it's the lesser of two evils in the telcom world.

looks like verizon is trying. I just signed up for a new plan, first time using them and they offer double data if you sign up before the end of the month (DEC), so the 2 gigs at $30 is actually 4 gigs.. and the 5 gigs is 10 gigs at $50. At near cable modem download speeds in my area thats not too bad. And they said since I signed up, double data for my entire time with them.
