Samsung has decided to play the Grinch this year for the holidays. The company has announced this week that its Galaxy S line of phones- including the GS, the GS 4G, the Captivate and the Vibrant, will not be getting the much anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, ever. My HD2 can run ICS. It's not even an Android phone to begin with...

I have a Samsung Fascinate. We waited forever for Froyo and now all we are getting from Samsung is a lame excuse for not making Ice Cream Sandwich available to us. If lesser phones are getting it then the only reason to not push it to our Galaxy S phones is to push us into buying a newer phone from them. This will be my last Samsung phone.

Boohoo you can't run Windows 7 on your old XT computer. Boohoo you can run the latest MacOS on your old G4 PowerMac. Oh boohoo you can't run ICS on your old phone. So don't buy another Samsung phone, big deal. I'm sure Samsung is quivering in its boots.

Frankly I'll be lucky if my phone company pushes out the ICS update for my SGS2 when it hasn't even sent out the 2.3.4 update.

Hi :)
I have 2.3.5. on my Samsung Galaxy S2.
It is unlocked & I can install ICS if I wanted too!
However as my Samsung Galaxy Nexus has one or two problems with ICS & some apps.
I am reluctant to make this move for now.

BTW OP if you are referring HTC Desire HD(2)
It is android & will run ICS.
But very slowly.... ;)
