when using dvd shrink in re-author-compression settings under audio there is ac3 5.1ch english and ac3 2-ch english if i got rid of the 2-ch english would it still work on a normal tv or would i have to play them through the 5.1 suround cinema suround system? also is the sub picture the subtitles.

5.1 ch will work on a regular TV. Sometimes I think 5.1 doesn't sound as good on a normal TV because the voices are lower. I try to keep both 5.1 and 2ch audio if I can (without using compression)so I can choose when I watch the movie. And sub pictures are the subtitles.

lots of times your 2 channel is your director's commentary. I usually take it out for less compression.
