Google has hinted at it for months, but it's finally done; the Android hardware "Menu" button is dead and will no longer be needed going forward. google wants to erase the word buttons from phones in a couple of years totally

Eventually we're gonna have phones with no buttons at all and in-built batteries.

It's perfect until it freezes, then it's time to get a new phone.

Google should just erase handheld phones all in all. Let's put 'em in our ears and touch our noses to access the menu.

i doubt we will ever be rid of the recessed reset switch lol. of course running the battery completely dead is also an option

No, actually running the battery dead is not an option. The firmware in the battery won't allow it to be completely drained. And if the battery does get completely drained, the firmware won't allow it to charge again.
