Hi I just got the Plextor PX-712A and it burns DVD+R's at 12X but I cant find any media supporting this speed.
I heard they'r already comming out with a X 16 speed burner so whats the deal with the release of media lagging behind burners?
Any ideas?

I got ridata x 8 DVD+R's and when ever I burn a disc the max speed I get is X 7-X 8 with Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.
I'm a newb, so are you sayin X 2 discs should burn at X 12 too?
Certain burners have firmwares that will allow them to bump up the speed a notch when using quality media, for example 8X with 4X media but nothing like 2X to 12X. The maximum speed a disc can be burned is determined by the drive and the drive alone :)
