I get the message "unable to read sectors" after 99% of the movie Cast Away is uploading, the process crashes and give me this message.
I then burned it with DVD Shrink instead and it was fine.
What is this error message?

I was going to suggest a bad disc, but if Shrink could do it ... hmmm
How bout, what version are you using? Are you using just Xpress, or Xpress in XCopy Gold, or Xpress in Platinum? Do you have problems reading any other dvd's?

I have the exact same problem...i've tried using Platinum V3.21, XPress V 3.21, and Xpress V 3.0 and all of them wait until 99% of reading the dvds and then either the program will just close and I have to reboot to be able to open it again or the error occured reading sectors will appear. It only happens when using the entire disk mode, if I use just the movie they will copy with no problem. I've tried numerous dvds none of which are scratched and all give the error in entire disk mode..real pain I can't seem to find a good answer to the problem anywhere. I removed Power Dvd to see if that was the problem and no other background programs are running even antivirus and most of the windows services i've shut down. I have about 68gb free on my hard drive so that isn't the problem 1g of ram and a 3ghz processor so i'm clueless right now.

I am runing into the same issue, at 99% it crashes and I have to reboot the PC.
I'm using DVD Xpress with DVDXCopy Gold which I purchased in 2003 before the court ruling.
Have a Dell Dimension 4600 with 512MB.
I am not familiar with DVD Shrink but any hints on this error would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Toto.

Goodspy,
What version of XCopy Gold are you using?
Quote: I am not familiar with DVD Shrink
Have you tried DVD Shrink? What other programs are you using with Shrink? (DVD Decrypter? Nero?)

Can you post a little more of your specs? Processor, #of optical drives, O/S(hopefully your running XP with NTFS file system)

Sorry, I have already answered you in another message but just in case, it has 640MB, 2.80GHZ, XP Home with SP1.
2 drives: NEC DVD-RW ND-2500A and the reader is a JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166 (no clue what brand).
Hope this helps.
