audio problems with DVD-R movie

I just got a new DVD burner and I've struggled so hard just so that I could get one of my .AVI movies to a DVD-R. After alot of smaller problems, I got to burn the video to a DVD-R with Nero after converting it to MPEG-2 to VOB., BUP. and IFO files. As I play the movie, there's no sound. I used the guides from AfterDawn on how to convert a DivX or XviD AVI to DVD and the guide how to burn it with Nero.

Sorry if this problem has been asked before, but I'm desperate right now for help!
