Nintendo has announced today that the Wii console is closing in on 40 million units sold in the U.S. After selling 228,000 units in February, the console reached 39 million lifetime sales. Outside of the Wii, Nintendo also sold 262,000 3DS and 135,000 DS handhelds during the month.
