Struggling smartphone maker HTC has released their quarterly earnings for the Q1 2012, and they were not pretty.
For the quarter, revenues were NT$67,790 million (about $2.3 billion), a full 35 percent decrease year-over-year. Quarter-over-quarter, the company saw an equally bad fall, down from NT$101.42 billion ($3.43 billion) in the Q4 2011.

I like my Thunderbolt from HTC, but because of poor battery life, I have only got 5 hours tops and that's WITH the new extended battery. Thinking about switching to Droid Razr Maxx cause baterry life is close to 3 times of what is the Thunderbolt, so alas, HTC, I knew you well.

The battery in my Sensation was crap until I got an aftermarket battery. The upgraded battery that HTC offers is still garbage, but a $30 battery from Amazon.com initially gave me about 150% use time versus a broken in HTC battery, and now gives me at least 200% use time. Still, I miss being able to forget to charge my old dumb phone at night, and still having enough battery to get through another day. I would happily have a fatter, heavier phone to get that back.
BTW...Avoid Motorola...their build quality has dropped to crap lately. Samsung is really kicking *** in the Android arena. It is almost too bad that iOS isn't open to multiple device manufacturers...a Samsung iOS phone would not be as good as a Samsung Android phone, but it would still be a lot better than an Apple iOS phone.
Android phone just have bad battery life in general, there are a lot of things you can do to help improve it. HTC has a lot of good things coming out it won't be long before they start picking up again
HTC ruled with the EVO 4G... but ever since then each of their super phones is eclipsed by Samsung.
This summer, all talk of the "kick ass" HTC One X or the EVO 4G LTE will be completely blown away by the Samsung Galaxy S III, a Superphone by all measures.
It seems that HTC is good, just not quite good enough. and at the top end of the market, not good enough is bad...
