Studio sues 2500 more alleged 'Hurt Locker' downloaders

article published on 24 April, 2012

Early last year, Voltage Pictures filed a lawsuit against 24,583 defendants for allegedly downloading and sharing pirated copies of the Oscar-winning picture "The Hurt Locker." In October, the studio let nearly all of those defendants off the hook, voluntarily dismissing them "without prejudice." This week, the same studio has come back for round two, filing a new suit against 2514 ... [ read the full article ]

Must be a different "Hurt Locker". Surely Chartier would not have the unmitigated chutzpa, after being barred from the Oscars for illegally soliciting votes among members for his movie, to sue the miniscule number of people who watched the low-quality version of his sorry excuse of blatant propaganda....
And Kathryn Bigelow would not dare make accusations at others after illegally (and what she thought was surreptitiously) obtaining the footage of the Seals' Bin Laden raid for use in a taxpayer-funded propaganda film bolstering Obama's fading chances at reelection....
Nah, no two people could possibly be so disgusting!

The last desperate gasp of a floundering law firm trying to make a name for themselves in an aired land of the supposed lawless as if it were the wild west all over again. So bad in fact they're using this 'cowboy conflict' as a stepping stone to prove their case. In fact it will only serve as a means to grease their own tracks to the gallows.

Everything has already been argued & the applicable experts trotted before the jury... We're just standing around waiting for the court to slam the door in Voltage's face.

I.e., it's a mute point.

I'm not aware that either were invited to make anything more than blanket statements like "that's my movie" with regards to the case involved. The MPAA & RIAA are the biggest instigators here & little else.

I.e., neither will benefit from the film winning any kind of settlement (which it won't), despite your lopsided rhetoric.

Chartier was an idiot seeking publicity & got it. They're damn sure NOT going to ask him to the stand. Get over it.

Bigelow... she's doing another movie. Is it propaganda SPECIFIC for Obama? No. Like the Hurt Locker, it'll probably be heavy handed & smarmy. Plus, your comment of her 'stealing' any tapes is bullshit and quite creamy. Reelection aside (I have my sources) only information was leaked, nothing video and certainly not mainlined to her. So no, Bigelow isn't the next Jane Fonda of your generation. Sorry, grow up.

At best she gets non military folk to squirm in the seats & to feel something for the people in uniform (what, I have no idea). For the actual people in the military? Frankly, she flat pisses us off.

So no, she won't be asked to the stand either. Be constructive.

Eh.....I'm not part of this. Grabbed this early on and then bought on bluray shortly thereafter.

To be perfectly honest, Peerblock has seemingly protected me quite well. I know it's not 100% but as a network engineer......I know nothing is. It's about minimizing your chances essentially and with 2.35 BILLION blocked IPs in my extensive line of lists, I have yet to receive any letters from my ISP.

I know at least 10 close friends that already have gotten one. Though.......I don't leech off others like a banshee as do most. I download here and there and buy a sh*tstorm of blurays too. I wholeheartedly believe in contributing to society and NOT using the lame ass B.S. excuse "If Hollywood wouldn't release crap then I'd buy" which is nothing more than worthless pirates justifying their rampant leeching so they don't feel the need to give back.

More dead beat studio's trying to recoup losses from their worthless trash. This movie suck so much its not worth a postage stamp. So folk's just try not to get caught in their money making scheme, because its mostly the movies that did horrible at the box office that are doing this. So folks if you want to see a movie wait until Redbox has it on rental, and if you cant wait order it pay per view its cheaper than a movie ticket and popcorn/soda. Just my 2 cents worth..........

Its not them trying to recoup loses just do a wiki on the movie and it clearly shows they made a nice profit already as I show here.

Budget $15 million
Box office $49,230,773

This information's right on wiki google does amazing things!
These kind of things make me think its more of a publicity stunt if anything.
