Over the weekend, a German console site called PlayNation revealed pictures of the alleged PS4 spec sheet along with some additional data on the console, which is set for release at the end of next year.
We did not run the story originally, as most of these stories end up being complete hoaxes, but we have decided to post the specs and data here today to see what our readers think.

i'm not sure if i want a ps4 with sony killing all the possibility's of CFW & everything else we could have with the ps3 there not letting there patent for perfect playing of ps2/ps1 game's on the ps3 out ive bought a ps1 -2- & 3 but the debacle they have done with the ps3 makes me wan't a xbox instead and also i don't like the name orbis, Xperia sounds better japan should skip over the #4 why not remove all the anti- freedom restriction put in place on the ps3 have sony release a jailbreak software that releases the hold of everything on it

I going to say PS IV will not be implementing backwards compatibility. The idea to them is to move forward, not backwards; they won't give in to customer demand now, as the demand isn't higher than the ones who don't rightly give a damn or don't want the feature altogether.
Other things that don't make sense to include is 11.1 audio capability. Really? Not many people use 7.1, why have it use 11.1.
It was also my understanding that Sony was jumping the gun to ATI, instead of Nvidia to save on the bottom line. So this tells me this developer sheet is also old. Likely a year or two old.
Still tho, interesting enough.

Yeah, sure, bound to happen.
Not.
My opinion?
Frankly we'll be lucky to see 3gb of DDR3 in the next round of consoles.

Almost as BS-y as the x86-based rumors. Like it's at all difficult to fake a document to looks like other official Sony/PS3 documentation.

They had better be making some killer launch games. I could care less that they are stringing along failures to the new console.

Fake. Sony is dumping cell and they are using ATI for their video card. Backwards compatibilty won't exist or will be limited like when MS went from Nvidia to ATI. Some of the specs are way too high, Sony is still in the red. For their next console they know not to price it too high.

Any schmuck buying into this crap is a goof!
Here's why it's a hoax........11.1 channel audio doesn't officially exist. It's a Neo:X "upconvert" and only used as an "idea" by DTS. Only one receiver has this and it's a discontinued Yamaha P.O.S.
2160p is 4 times that of modern HD and no TV is even capable yet except experimentals. I read Sony is planning on a tv of this rez between 2012 and 2020. PS4 will be out LONG BEFORE 2020 and no way are they going to sink money into this and create an even larger debt for the sinking company.
This is such B.S. People are so gullible to believe nonsense like this.

And an even more killer console would have a 120 core processor running at 6.2GHz with 128Gb of RAM and 8 video cards running parallel processing with "Ultra HD".............

This thing would cost way too much anyway.
And I believe the saying is, "I couldn't care less", implying that your level of careness(lol) is at the lowest it could be.

Back in 2006 when the PS3 came out, not everyone (actually not too many people) had 1080p TVs yet the PS3 supported it. Just because it supports 2160p doesn't mean all that much.

Next round of consoles won't use DDR3 for sure. The GDDR6 part seems right. As for 10GB, doubtful. Every generation of consoles has had significantly less RAM than PCs of the time. Right now, I'd think 1-2GB is what they'll use but with the price of RAM so low, 3-4GB is possible.
CPU, it better be "easy" to code for. Companies are getting lazier by the day. I don't want 3rd party devs to basically say "f*** it".
For resolution, Xbox 1 supported 720p. It died off before 90% of the population even knew what 720p was and there was probably 2 games that supported it. 2160p isn't far off. The 27" Imac already does 2560 x 1440.
Price, it's probably not going to be too expensive. People have to remember, what hiked the PS3s price up so much was the BluRay drive. That was where the extra price went. Without the BD drive, it would have been the same price as the 360 at release. BluRay is dirt cheap now. You can buy BD players for under $50 brand new.

I understand your point but HDTV 1080i came out in 99.
I used to work for Barretts Audio/Video in Chicagoland at the time and TVs were 15K so 06 was way late in the HDTV introduction game.
This particular case is different in that 2160 is on no one's broadcasting radar to be implemented at this time. It's all talk right now. Again.....I get your point. Really.......the audio is my main point of argument. 11.1 is nonsense.
