It's official: 'Game of Thrones' is most pirated show of the year

HBO's blockbuster series 'Game of Thrones' is the most pirated TV show of the year.
The show is averaging 3.9 million downloads per episode, almost at the same level of viewers it has on TV, which is 4.2 million.

i'd buy hbo go if that all i had to get, what would be really awesome would be a netflix/hbogo bundle for like 14.99 or 17.99 a month. or 9.99 :P

HBO is a cash cow. Since I still have satellite, I find value in their channel, I think it's $11 to add-on, like the person above said, I can take it with me on my iPhone or Kindle Fire, so the value is increased with HBO GO.
The reason they won't offer GO separately is obvious: can you imagine the panic of cable companies if you could get HBO separately.
Also in this list, Family Guy, makes no sense at all, when it's offered on Netflix, Hulu and just about every digital service known to man. Same goes for a few of the other shows that are already on those services. Are people really that petty to set a DVR or subscribe to a streaming service, or maybe just tune in on the first airing?

Some people don't have the time, or ability, to watch shows "when they air." Plus, downloading it, most "groups" have removed all the annoying commercials and what not, plus in good divx compression, you can put a couple of seasons of Family Guy on a DVD... (as opposed to buying an entire season of a show that is strung out over 4 or 5 DVD's, when all that fits on one DVD).

Sorry, but that's just an excuse to pirate. I made note of the different methods above, including DVR, OnDemand services such as your cable company's offering, Netflix or Hulu, which of course settles the "inconvenience" of opening your DVD player and changing discs.
Spending the time to download the files, burn to a disc, etc. is far more inconvenient than paying a service around $7-8 per month for unlimited content that is seconds away IMO.

Well, once again, I stated that you can fit more episodes of a show in divx format on a disc than in standard DVD format... I have a DVD recorded that will play divx encoded CD's and DVD's... Less storage space used... Less discs on the shelf... And no annoying commercials... Besides, I don't have cable anyway... I rarely ever watch TV, and don't see the need to spend money on something that will go mostly unused... There's a few shows I keep up with, but not many...

Yep. Why pay for cable which pays the networks which pays for the shows you watch. Makes sense. :-)
