According to tech analyst Shaw Wu of Sterne Agee, the next-generation iPhone will support China Mobile's own 3G network, making it the first Apple device to be truly a "world phone." Support for the TD-SCDMA 3G network will be one of the new "key features" of the iPhone 5, says Wu. I didn't know there were differences in 3G technology... I kinda figured it would be the same globaly, not something like it was in the past (psudo present) television broadcasts with NTSC/PAL.

You know, like AM/FM... that's pretty universal. So what's up with China's "3G". What's supposed to be the challenge there? I'll go with a link. I'm assuming an anecdotal example might not do the trick...
