@siberian,

Are you checking or unchecking any audio selections? Some will check all audio(AC3 & DTS), and this will cause the file to be too big. I want you to try two things:
1) Open shrink, click edit then preferences. Change the target size to custom and enter 4300 ... and click ok.
2) Try using Verbatim branded disks ... I like the 2.4x

And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about XCopy
