Only goofs use the physical keyboard!

It's inherently slower and always will be.

Some people type faster than touchscreens can register..

I will say though that ever since google took over there phones resemble stock android.

i can still type 40 words a minute on a manual typewriter so i think i will stick with qwerty.i guess its all what your used to.to call someone names because of their choices in transmitting information shows a certain closed mindedness and lack of class in my opinion.seems like the way the world is going tho.

I assume that the above poster was talking about swype or voice recognition, and obviously that poster has never used the terminal, he probably saves all his passwords in his insecure phone as well. I love physical keyboards. My dream phone would have a 7 inch screen, a qwerty, a 10000mA battery, and 128gb internal storage (plus room for two xd cards and a usb master port that would support a dozen 3tb drives on hubs)...and I don't care if it would be the size and weight of the old motorola "brick". Failing that, I want a note on verizon with a qwerty keyboard. I'm half tempted to make a kickstarter project for a protective shell with a keyboard once the note2 hits. Heck, I might even buy this phone if it were on a decent network...and if motorola quality wasn't so terrible latelly.

FWIW, I have a Desire Z and I use the flip out keyboard 80% of the time, but my next phone (soon) will undoubtedly be without one simply because there won't be a decent QWERTY alternative available with a high enough spec to compete.

I am old time pretty fast thumb typist convert from Casio digital diaries. First I switched to a BlackBerry but found the screen too small and the OS too restrictive. Now I am using a Samsung device sans QWERTY keyboard. At the moment I don't need it and am not too comfortable with neither the touch nor swype. I use it only for short text messages. Even adding new contacts is a bit of a pain.

I will take a physical keyboard any time over the touch type. It is a lot faster and MUCH MORE PRECISE. Unfortunately for me I can't justify the 5x cost for my usage.

Lol physical keyboard will always be faster, you have your logic a bit turned around.
Just do a speed test against someone with a physical keyboard. The last test I did against someone who uses his iphoney daily for work and uses swype, I was at least twice as fast.

One of the main advantages of a physical keyboard is being able to type without looking at the keys. (Or having to look much less)

Plus if the keyboard isn't on the screen there is room to display other things.

This phone looks great except they don't mention a memory slot which is kind of a deal breaker.

Awsome. less backspacing, more typing. keyboards are more flexible too, and you dont have to give up 7/10ths of screen space.
