Struggling electronics giant Sony will cut 15 percent of its Sony Mobile employees, in an effort to turn around the money losing division. 15 percent will amount to around 1000 jobs lost. Yeah, they're leaving R&D in Sweden where they can be completely ignored by Japan, and they can continue running their company terribly.

The amount of money Sony Ericsson were losing is ridiculous; they need to actually improve their products and the way they run their company, not just fire people.

While my experience is not vast I know of no people who have been happy with Xperia phones. In addition my partner currently has an Xperia U and it crashes 80% of the time when she tries to make calls.

I am not surprised they are starveling.

My first thought when they said it was 1000 people being fired was that it was the 'customer service division'. Man, am I blushing.
