Just a few questions.
First of all, have you read the guide, available here at AD, and Doom9.org should have something on it to?
What Mode did you use to rip the file; File, IFO, or ISO?
Are you trying to burn with Decrypter? It has to have an ISO file to burn. This may be the reason for the format error.

To rip and burn with DVD Decrypter, you have to use ISO read under Mode to rip and then switch to ISO write to burn the ISO file. Bet somebody didn't read the guide.

For my enlightenment and so I don't go over anyone else's head, what were those big words? Rip and Burn are the only two words out of the normal jargon. They are common to DVD recording however. The rest of the terms were words on the toolbar of the program and the error warning you got. Wrong format was the error. It could have been avoided if one of those big words had been used. The word is called guide.

BTW, you're welcome. We have a glossary here at AD if you need assistance with some of the terms. People just getting started may not understand some of the terminology that is used on a regular basis. However, guide is a part of the language everyone should understand. If you like the current version of Shrink, you should like the new version which is due out shortly. It's in the final stages now.
