Well thanks to your frankly *rocking* guides I'm up to the stage of burning my first DVD having used DVD Shrink and now DVD Decrypter. I have an ISO file and DVD Shrink has opened up DVD Decrypter and there is a blank DVD-R in my E drive..but DVD Decrypter says:
"Device not ready, medium not present"
the CD is sat in the drive waiting, but the 'write' function is not enabled and it doesn't appear to recognise I have a DVD-R disk in the drive. I'm totally stuck at this point, so any help/advice greatly appreciated !
Also open DVD Decrypter and copy the log and post it.
The main reason for getting a medium not present error is trying to burn a -R/RW on a +R/RW only drive or burn a +R/RW on a -R/RW only drive or burn -R/RW or +R/RW on a DVD-ROM drive.
The model is an NEC DVD+RW (ND-2100AD) and the error log is:
I 16:35:10 DVD Decrypter Version 3.2.3.0 started!
I 16:35:10 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 1)
I 16:35:10 Initialising SPTI...
I 16:35:10 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...
I 16:35:11 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD+RW!
My computer is brand new, and I bought it to burn DVD's on but being rather a donkey at all things remotely hardware-like I'm hoping you're not going to tell me I can't ! LOL !
Ok, that doesn't sound good ! So I can't burn my DVD's ? I have a DVD-R disk in the drive, do I just need to get a DVD-RW disk instead ? or am I totally skrewed ?
