IMAGiNE group members all plead guilty

article published on 4 September, 2012

The fourth member of the once popular IMAGiNE piracy release group has plead guilty to copyright infringement and now faces jail time. Jeramiah Perkins of Portsmouth faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, just like his co-conspirators. Last September, the P2P top group stopped distributing new CAM and TS releases, and the P2P world began speculating that maybe they had ... [ read the full article ]

That they were sold out by another P2P Group now that is low. I wonder Why?

All over a case of 'Tiny Dick Syndrome'... Not that I have a lot of empathy for people copying movies literally off of the movie screen itself. That to me is just scraping the bottom of the barrel.

DVD/Blurays, those have enough gray area worth debating.

To me this is one of the few forms of piracy that I look kindly upon. Making a 1:1 copy of a bluray frequently results in the loss of a sale...yeah, some people still buy it later, and you can argue that the crummy studios don't deserve money or that the movie isn't worth $20...but I at least feel bad for some studios some of the time for some movies.

However, CAM rips are so terribly low quality that the only way it will prevent a disk sale later is if the movie is really terrible and only worth watching once (or not at all). I'm not confessing to anything here, but I may or may not have used these in the past so that I could stay home with the GF smoking weed and f**king instead of going out. If hollywood had just let me buy/rent the movie at release I would have...but they only do that for the rich. It may cause lost ticket sales at the theaters as well, but I can't be bothered by that...the theaters suck, the food prices and quality suck, the employees are rude, there are crying babies in the R-rated movies, there is no smoking, there is no drinking (except for the places that sell watered-down swill for $5 a cup), and they never have any of the good indie films...I wouldn't mind at all if they killed off all the theaters if not for the fact that I have some fond memories of the drive-in (that have nothing at all to do with the movie; they could have been playing a loop of barbie commercials for all I care).

Long live CAM rips...or at least live them as long as they delay home releases.

Well... You make a valid point. Why should should the rich mucky mucks get to see screeners if we can't? Obviously they don't have to pay for them. And I BARELY if ever go to the theater for the same reason you do including blathering idiots, assholes with laser beam bright text screens, triple dicks that can't seems to reach into the pop corn bag without crumpling all 4 corners consistently & the ever present jackass that laughs like a mule at non existent punchlines (I personally throw my cane at them).

A few folks know I used to work at a drive-in movie theater back in the 80s & had it not been for the fact that I could run the whole place for just me & a few of my friends on occasion (like a giant video screen) I would probably have passed on that too.

But still, people still had a modicum of an idea of how the f*k to behave in a theater at that time.
