Quote: Can you back up every movie with Rebuilder and CCE?
I've heard mulit-angle movies can't be backed up. Or at least ya have a hard time doing it. But I haven't come across too many of those :)

OK. I lied. I'm back. Does anyone know of a repetitive motion injury called something like "mouse knuckle" or "Mouse finger"? Right hand, first digit only.

hey guys, I'm back, been with the "wife", went and saw "Garfield", don't laugh!(flip, ya wanna know the ending? heh heh)
buik, apology accepted (good to see ya back) and I have no idea!
drake, DVDRemake can handle multiple angles, then on to RB/CCE. No need to back up every movie with RB/CCE. In cases of 80% or less, I use a quicker app(since I've answered this for you in other threads, I think you know my choices by now. heh heh )
flip, you dog you lol (i'm not sure if bribe is the correct term, but like you, the wife factor is definitely, a "factor!")
BTW, RB/CCE takes me about 3-4 hours. I don't have those big monster PC's you guys do!
GO VOLS !

hi guys,(holla's out to bigo)
Ive been reading the raves about rb/cce,so my curiousity got the best of me, and gave it a shot.
I downloaded the trial version of CCE SP,that big blue logo is the pits.I guess im gonna have to buy the basic version. Can I expect the same picture quality with the basic that I had with the sp?Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
Oh btw, thanks for editing out the ending of butterfly effect!! I did say I backed it up but I didnt say I watched it yet. lol I buy my dvd's and then back them up,I try to play the original as little as possible.
rb/cce takes me about 4 hours too,no monster computer here either.
wow this is the first question ive posted in months,I feel like a noob again lol
count be among the ranks of the rb/cce converts.

Yes, you can expect the same quality from either one. There are some people who feel that up to 4 passes (only possible with SP) can sometimes improve quality, but one of the advantages to DVD-RB is the way it divides the video into smaller segments, which has a side effect of making the amount of video CCE has to distribute the bitrate to smaller, and therefore the extra passes make less difference (IMO).

Lordy, is this the twilight zone or what? You asking me for advice? My original AD mentor? Most Happy to oblige. If S. pete asks me something now, I'll know I'm in another world( wait a minute, he did! He asked about RB/CCE too!)
RB/CCE is a great combo, huh? You can expect the same quality. It is the same engine, basic only making 2 passes whereas the more expensive(if ya call 2,000.00 only more expensive) making 4.
There are some other options also, vurbal would be the one to ask on that. I went ahead and bought CCE basic, so I have actually never used the trial version, but vurbal says it has the same quality. He seems to be the resident CCE expert, so I tend to take him at face value.
BTW, Butterfly Effect's a pretty wild ride, huh? Did you back up the theatrical release or the director's cut? The DC has the infinifilm feature, I had a time in that with remake.
BTW, don't know if you're interested, but DVDRemake really works well with RB/CCE. Since RB has no re-authoring this is a good way to edit and improve already great quality.
Unfortunately, the DRM trial only gives you a feel for it's operation, it won't let you export it's files. You can get it for 25.00, the pro version is 40.00( I think mackemX has it at his site for 35.00) you really only need the basic version, it does plenty. It is very good dealing with multiple angles.
Also, I think you need the pro version to deal with interleaving( not sure on that, I have pro...)
Let me know what you do and holler back anytime, your friend BigO

Thanks vurbal and bigorange
Ok thats the clincher,I guess all thats left is clearing it with the boss ie.wife. lol
Bigo, your a software freak, what do you do? buy first, and explain to the wife later? lol That route would get me alot of sack time on the couch.
vurbal, your guide is great, keep up the good work, you really know your stuff.I havent tried any of the other tools like, vobblanker, and dvd stripper, that will be my next project when I find the time.
thanks again guys

Jim, I don't let her know(heh heh heh)
Jim, vobblanker, dvdstripper, and titlesetblanker all work well with DVD-RB. None touch DVDRemake. It IS the best re-authoring prog I've seen, period. I checked, basic will not handle interleaving, but other than that you're set to go with DRM basic.
I've got pro, but I've only needed it a couple of times, basic would've worked on everything else. It is well worth 25.00 (just don't tell her).
RB/CCE does such a good job, imagine it with a little re-authoring!
See ya!

@jim_dandy: I buy my software while the wife's at work. She doesn't always appreciate it but it's too late to do anything about it ;) Of course I also tend to take many months to decide to buy software because I have very little money to spend (and I'm cheap), so my wife knows I won't take too much crap over it 8D
