Nintendo selling out Wii U Deluxe pre-order stock

Last week, Nintendo finally revealed the price of their upcoming Wii U console, with the base model selling for $299 and a Deluxe model selling for $349.
The console goes on sale in the U.S. on November 18th.

Well I hope that since I found a back door direct link to the deluxe console on Bestbuy.com (US site) before they officially offered it for pre-order with links on the main site I got mine in early enough.
I even signed up for the pre-order email but that did not come in until after I made the order.

Why did they even have a deluxe model in the first place. I knew it would sell out day 1, and not because everyone wanted a WiiU. Nintendo did some very shifty marketing here.

It is not shifty marketing, If you had the opportunity to secure the WIIU black, which is only $50 more, that wouldn't be shifty at all. It appears to me that Nintendo is offering the White Edition as a choice! If you wanted the Black Edition, you would have to per-order it when the selling price was released.
Those who really wanted the Black Edition would have to come to Gamestop or other electronic stores that would take per-orders to secure which WIIU that you wanted.
The per-order period took place on 9/13, in which G.S. would begin taking orders on the white as well as black.
The black is $50 more because it comes with a game. The white edition doesn't come with a game and has lower storage memory. The Black does not only come with a $50 game in which if you had the white edition you would have to pay $50 forextra anyway, but you would have less memory storage. So basically whites could get the game purchased separately for $50. However black WIIU's consist of 32 gig memory with game included unlike WIIU white.
For those of you who were not able to secure a black WIIU or white WIIU it is quite unlucky for you.
I just so happened to ask Gamestop as to when they were taking orders and it was on 9/13 the day that the WIIU price was released by Nintendo. Before that day they weren't taking any orders.
For those of you who are Nintendo fanboys/girls...I hope that you were able to order the black WIIU!
As for scoffers of the WIIU, I hope that you will truly never want one as it will take a great amount of time to get the superior black one. And if you are able to get the white one instead... that would suck as the white is a sucky base system that doesn't come with a $50 game as WiiU black is only $50 more and comes with the game and more internal storage memory.
We are looking at the fanatic WII wanters all over again! I remember wanting a WII and having to wait several months before getting one. I just hope that the WIIU will live up to its hype, and not become a dust collector like the WII. In addition, I hope that WIIU is as hackable like the WII, but it is likely that it will not be because I think that Nintendo has learned its lesson and is making a console that is more secure than the PS3 and XBOX 360.

Perhaps you missed my point by saying I'm wrong about this being shifty. Because by your own words it looks like you pointed out every reason I'd call it shifty. Nintendo knows business and how to near abuse their customers and still keep them drooling. We saw it with the "production shortages" of the Wii. This time around they've doubled down and made one that you'll never get but would pay a fortune for and another that will have "shortages" but just enough to keep the hype machine going well through the PS4 and new xbox next year.

Maybe you are right. Who knows at this point. However, I'd think that Nintendo would have learned by now and are giving gamers what they really crave. As far as their marketing scheme, I don't blame them. Any company would do the same thing. It's called marketing 101. I just hope that my Black edition won't turn out to be a dust collector. This will probably be Nintendo's final console. I know that it will be mine because I think that having to buy a new console every 4-6 years really is shifty. When the older consoles were out it was not only about gameplay but the graphics. Right now, how much better can the graphics be on any of the systems? I think that we have finally reached the pinnacle! However, it is entirely up to the game developers as to which system has an easier interface for programing which would equal more games.
Come on! What if the lifespan of every electronic device had a lifespan of 5 years. No matter how shifty a game company's tactics are "It's all fair in love and war!" As far as gaming company console engineers and game developers go, they tread on soft ground as the gaming market is in financial trouble right now because less and less people are shelling out money for games and systems! I guess they like you are fed up with their shiftiness!
This could be 1983 all over again! However, 1983 wasn't a bad year for me...Colecovison games and Atari games which normally sold for $30-$40 dollars could be purchased that year for as low as $.099 at a local Toys R Us or Walgreens. At the time I had a Colecovision with an Atari adapter which resulted with me having a tremendous gaming library. Oh, those were the days! I paid $.50 for Atari's E.t. and am still can't learn how to play it as goes the same as Atari's Raiders of The Lost Ark.

With the increase in all the shovelware on andriod/ios the veritable deluge of games on those platforms does mimic the trend atari had just before the first great game crash of '83. And nintendo was doing the same from day 1 on the wii. However this time the prices don't seem the issue as mobile games are <$10 and wiiware isn't much more. But the shear content and how much of it looks identical is what really killed atari. Games then and now are doing the same thing and people abandoned the market then. It wasn't until nintendo started bringing arcade titles and well produced games that we saw a return.
However.
Games like Bards Tale for $6 and being on par with what I would consider modern console graphics and content. This time around I think the consoles might not be making a comeback at all.
