HTC unveils Windows Phone 8X

article published on 19 September, 2012

HTC has used their press event in NYC today to unveil two new devices, including the Windows Phone 8X flagship. Have they gimped them by refusing to include a micro SD card slot & giving it a sealed battery?

They are the 2 prime reasons why the HTC One X was left out of the reckoning last time I bought.

Are we just talking about HTC phones, or Apple phones here? Because I don't seem to remember an SD card slot in my iPhone 4S, or a removable battery... yet that doesn't seem to stop people buying those in the millions. So are you saying that iPhones are equally gimped?

Get real.
If you ever need to change your battery you must have a really crappy phone.

Spoken like a true nut case. Some people keep their phones for years. There may come a time where they need to buy a larger capacity battery. Or they just want more capacity on a newer phone.

This is superman

Choosing not to buy a phone without a card slot and changeable battery is simply a choice. It doesn't matter the quality of the phone. Some people just expect more from their devices than others do. I for one agree with Interestx. I won't buy a phone that doesn't have both of those features. To me there is no excuse not to have them. I just got a Samsung GS3 and took the card out of my old HTC Incredible and put it right in. All the music and photos I had on it are now instantly on my new phone without any need to do a backup or transfer to my pc or upload to any kind of cloud service.

I think these Windows Phones might be interesting devices and if I could get one for a decent price without needing add it to my cell plan, I wouldn't mind trying one out for a while. I would however wait until I found one that had removable battery and a card slot.
