Sony announced early this morning that a new model of the PS3 will hit stores this holiday season, along with a slightly cheaper price tag.
The two new versions will be lighter and smaller than current models.

Well, white is a classic color. White, black, silver... most common colors for cars.
Like midnight blue for blue... it's just a name they have for white, and what they've called their white components in the past, FWIW.
You've been able to get "classic white" controllers for quite some time. I believe the old PSone was available in white as well when they downsized it to the mini version.
I guess any power consumption efficiency improvement is welcome and if you've not got one already the bigger hard drive might appeal (but 500gb is still stingy by todays standards).
I've a 1tb in my slim, can't see any need for this (but I do wish they'd quit messing around with silly shapes.
I'd guess a lot of us put these in racks & being able to stack components on a single shelf really helps.
this does not make sense. They have never created a third revision before, have they? This would be the ps3 slimmer? Seriously, Like the guy above me, we're looking at one more year before ps4. Sony is going to milk the crap out of the ps3 I bet. They are still doing it with the ps2.
