Foxconn re-opens factory following worker riot

Foxconn has confirmed it will resume production at its Taiyuan factory in China's Shanxi province after shutting it down last night following a worker riot.
The company says lost production will be minimal, despite the heavy media coverage.

Gods, there was a riot and they're reporting on whether they expect production to be impacted or not. And I can't help but read:

I will not buy foxconn products. they do not give a hell about their workforce or their consumers, in my view.

So after the riots over and all 2000 workers went home to bed, they woke up forgetting the whole thing, no hard feelings and went back to work? I'm sure that morale is off the chart and they will be more than happy to "make up any shortfalls". Makes me smile thinking that there is some disgruntled foxxconn employee rubbin his balls all over someones new shiny iwhatever.
Keep your head up, keep alert, and don't let them take you by suprise.

Yeah, mrslicker does not know it, but a LOT of electronic imported devices are just about made by a workforce of slave labor.
It is stupid to single foxconn out. They ALL do it!

It's kinda indicative of where their priorities are. Instead of stating the cause of the riot and what they are going to do to mitigate that cause, they report that production will not be affected, because that's obviously more important.

This is starting to sound terribly close to the riots & striking that they had with the coal mines here in the United States many years ago. I mean it was literally open cases of marching people down the street to the cemetery after they exited the mine & shooting them.
I can't help but wonder when these outbreaks hit this kind of escalation.

I imagine that this is their own labor revolution. Even the most gentle dog will bite, if you abuse it enough. If the cause of the riots is relatively minor, then there must be an underlying issue that is not being properly addressed. It's going to be interesting to see how this all pans out.
