Can a power supply effect a burned DVD-R

Hiya... tried to look for a similar problem but couldn't find one, hence this post.

I did some DVD-R's a month or so ago. (Pioneer A04, using Datawrite Red and Yellow media) . These all work ok. However, I've updated to Athlon 2600, new board, same burner. No matter what image I try I cannot get a DVD or CDRW to boot on the Xbox. Tried Slayers, PAL/NTSC switcher, games, extracted Xiso and recompiled Xiso. Tried everything and ended up with 20 coasters!

The Evox dashboard says there is a 'Game' loaded in the drive but it won't boot.

What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that the burner is not burning properly? Maybe a bigger power supply or something?
