Who else is using the Xenium ICE?

Just wondering if anyone else is using this chip, and how you like it? I just installed mine last night, so icant really comment on it, but it seems to be a very nice chip, with a extremely powerful OS built in. Lots of options,easy install(especially compared to the Matrix Infinity I installed in my PS2 the day before). So far its just a great all around chip, with some nice added features, like the usb controller port adaptor, and the external LED, witch you can set to change colors depending on which bios you are running. Once I play around with it a bit more, I will let you all know a little more about it.

i never heard of any external dvd, but the usb adaptor just slides right into the controller port, and you can hook up usb items to it, such as mice keyboards, you can even use a usb pen drive, and flash your bios with it. its a really cool little item.

sorry about my enlish is not that good
i want to get a chip, I was looking at ICE but then i look into the Xecuter 3 and it looks nice.. but is not out yet!!! so what do you guys think should i get the ICE or wait for Xecuter 3???????

I have ice,evo dash installed, 160g hard drive everything basicaly works great. Also very easy installation.

mine didnt come with an external lcd. it came with an external LED. and its just plug and play. Its the same color that the one on xenium is. basicaly i just took out controller ports 1&2(they are connected) and routed the wires through there, and out through the vent holes there. Its fairly straight forward.

im debating for months now whether ICE or X3 would be my best choice for my xbox v.1.6. anyone have a better place to go get this modchip?

which modchip? The ice or the x3? I bought mine from modchipman.com. didnt have any problems. its a great chip.

So how large of a hard drive with the xenium ice support? Also when was the chip released?

There's no real "limit" with the Xenium ICE, but the new BIOS for the 1.6 doesn't support the F partion of the hard drive bigger than 137 gb.

well, there actually is a limit on LBA 48 enabled bioses. But don't worry. It's somewhere around 2 terabytes :P.
btw, I setup my xenium (running os 2.0) to "instant boot". It's great and all, having my bios instantly boot. But, how to I get back to the os without running recovery and reinstalling the os?
Also, it's interesting to me that when adding a new item (bios) from "flash" (y'know, there's 3 choices: tsop, flash and hdd), it directs you to pick a bios from the hdd, not from one of the banks on the flash chip itself. I know os2.0 is beta, but does anyone have any insight/help for me and this instant boot crap?

turn it on with eject i believe. i dont use instant boot. try it with both, but i am about 95% sure it is eject that boots to the OS.

Everything is all set to go. My Xbox v1.6 modded with Xenium ICE(not solderless) running Evol M8_1.6 bios is perfectly 100% stable. Tested on backup DVD and Harddisk. I Love it!

Im a newb to all this and I would like some help. I just got the Xenium Ice chip and installed it. Am I missing something or is there supposed to be an OS installed by default with the chip. I boot up and I get the OEM XBOX startup screen. Help?

Double check your soldered points. They can get very tiny and tricky. I'm a new-B myself not to long ago. Take your time to compared. Follows as instructed.

yeah, check your solder points, and if you used a solderless adapter, try applying more pressure. also, make sure that d0 is in the right spot. i think thats most likely your issue.

Im using the solderless adapter. I tried turning on the Xbox while pushing down on the chip and it worked, but there is no way of tightening it any more. Should I just get the adapter replaced?

one way is to applied just a small amount of solder along the side to the pin header(whichever one is lose to the chip). just a tiny amount will help your chip to fit right in. if it to tight you can smooth it up until your ICE are satified.
