Today, the hit-or-miss site DigiTimes reported that Google is actively building a $99 Nexus tablet, following up on past rumors from prominent analysts and east Asian suppliers.
In the report, the site claims Google is working with manufacturers WonderMedia, HannStar, and Quanta. Furthermore, Google will use a WonderMedia PRIZM 8950 processor, reads the report.

Hhm, from the way this article sounds & one from a bit earlier... Google's going for a sub par proprietary phone & now they're own (seemingly) sub par tablet.
Is it me or has there been a sudden outbreak of technological backsliding? I.e., instead of some timidly faster stuff coming out for a decent price we're seeing basically castrated technology being offered for what appears to be really cheap. Yet when you get a really good look at it, it really isn't that cheap.
Does corporate America think we all went retarded in our sleep one night & woke up the next morning humping the wall outlets?
