Man hit with massive fine for pirating gay porn films

Kywan Fisher has been fined $1.5 million for pirating and sharing 10 gay porn films via torrent networks.
Flava Works, the creator of the films, was awarded $150,000 per movie by a federal court in Illinois. The award is the largest in history for a file-sharing case.

Excuse me, but why in the bloody hell would you opt to not defend yourself? Is there any reason at all? Is he really paying $150k to not have himself associated with gay porn?

What defense would he have? Try to claim someone else bought and illegally shared the videos in his name, using his credit card(s) and spoofing his IP address(es) too? Lying would be perjury and ignorance isn't an excuse. And where does it say he didn't defend himself because he didn't want to be associated with gay porn?

In the USA
the copyright laws are made so that what ever you say you'll be handed jail time and a large fine based upon what the copyright holder wants done by a judge.
So he could say all sorts of stuff but he'll be screwed over anyway because that is what the law allows.

actually what i find is funny in all of this think about it

What the fuck is the matter with American courts ? "you are ordered to pay $10 million dollars says the judge to the guy working at mickey D's" sure like thats gonna happen ! It's like those 20 consecutive life sentences they hand out "you are ordered to serve 362 years in the state pen" Thats realistic too !
