Google: No native Gmail or Drive apps for Windows 8, WP8

The search giant sees no interest.
Google Apps product management director Clay Bavor has noted today that the company has no plans to develop native Gmail, Drive or other business app products for Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8.

I don't even use these apps on my Android phone. I'm not sure there are many Windows Phone users (or Windows 8 users) who are going to miss these apps.

Yep, GMail can be read from any regular pop3/imap reader; even Outlook.com can get it. And Nokia's drive app is far better than Google's. What many users are missing, don't ask me why, is Instagram.

My sister got a new laptop with Windows 8 on it. I have no idea how she will figure out how to use it. I played with it for over an hour and everything is confusing on there.

Well it seems that Google finally stomped their foot down and said None of our apps in your OS, hell no!!

Keep pushing those crappy chromebooks Google. Don't need a native GMAIL app anyway and there are plenty of other free online storage solutions out there anyway. Besides Skydrive integrates into WindowsPhone8 and Windows8/RT Google would not compare.

honestly i dont want any cloud based service run by microsoft or google because windows server which a lot of this stuff runs on can be hacked in 5 min no thank you
