I have many downloaded video clips which I have converted to DVD format using Win AVI converter. Till recently I used DVD Shrink to re-author many of these converted clips and burn them onto compilation DVDs - but starting a couple of weeks ago Shrink freezes when the backup button is pressed..
Other programs I have tried seems to only accept five or six clips max and takes many hours!
I have and use many conversion programs and would convert the clips into ANY format that would speed up proceedings.
So - a few questions from a puzzled senior citizen newbie...
(1) Has anyone got a suggestion about what has happened to Shrink? I have uninstalled and reloaded it a few times to no avail.
(2) Is there a substitute for Shrink - which I have used without any problem for years?
(3) Is there another program that would burn compilation DVDs of in a reasonable time, particularly if the clips were changed to a suitable format - Ashampoo Shrink and Burn sounds like a possibility - any opinions?
Thanks in advance,
Roger.

Thanks Attar, for the prompt reply.
Sadly - no improvement to the situation. I uninstalled Shrink (using Your Uninstaller)and installed the suggested download.
I kept loading clips (some quite small) till the line reached 4463 MB (20 clips) then I deleted one leaving 4371 MB. and pressed backup
Shrink seemed to consider the task for almost 2 minutes before displaying the request screen. I chose to save the result to a folder rather than burn and disabled the preview.
At 4.13 pm Shrink looked like it was working:
Rate 23 365 Buffered 128MB
But within a couple of minutes the rate had reduced to 5.945 (still 128 buffered)
I minimised it and went shopping - there was nothing else running.
At 7.15 pm tonight, I checked to see what had happened and was disappointed to find the rate was now 91 128 was still buffered and it claimed it would take another 13.4 hours!!
I have had no problems with the computer, not changed anything and use the same (Microsoft) antivirus and Malwarebytes etc and the computer is clean...I HAVE also tried leaving AnyDVDon and also disabling it but no change to the results.
I may have to test drive other DVD maker programs but Shrink was so instinctive and easy for an old codger to use - I am reluctant.
Roger.

Your sure there are no unwelcome guests in your PC hogging the CPU;have you ran MalwareBytes etc to verify that it's clean.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
I don't think AnyDVD is relevant except where an actual protected movie disk is involved.
If you can pick a restore point prior to the problem it might help.
