through a standard dvd shrink burn i now have a 4.7Gb ritek dvd-r with over 8700Gb of information (as it shows in iso read mode in dvd decrytor). cant even copy on to hard drive because its only 160GB! Queer

dvd drive is fine. error is with DVD Shrink. had pre-shrunk burns fail because shrink has tacked on extra Mbytes therefore being too large too fit on a 4.7 Gb dvd-r. solved that problem by reducing size of all files through custom settings therefore leaving 50 or 100MB undersize. guess same thing happened but in extreme case

can these be used with conventional burners

Yes, but you'll have to compress it so it will fit onto a regular +/-R(RW)
