According to a Nikkei report (translated by Engadget), Sony will not push its new PS4 console by focusing on its hardware specs, but rather on its playing options and home entertainment abilities.
The Japanese daily cites an unnamed Sony Computer Entertainment executive as saying that the PS4's selling point will be how it opens ... [ read the full article ]

Wow, well there's a step back from the norm if ever there was.
Is the PS4 not going to stand out in its specs?

Sony is the one that has patented the technology to block used games

Not that they will use it but no company has confirmed or denied that they will in fact block used games. Try not to believe all the rumors you read until it happens or legit source has confirmation and not some internet blog site.

I truly wish I knew the reasoning behind not allowing used/previously played games. Maybe they think people will just buy new games blindly. Maybe they believe that they will pump out so many new games regularly that are just a blast to play.........that no one will want to play a used game?? What if Joey wants to play a game at his friend's house without having to bring his entire XBox?
I can't think of one reason that a government would allow this monopolistic, Stalinistic violation of "fair use" to continue. Isn't it our RIGHT as a consumer to resell things we don't use or want anymore?

What options? limited PS3 support, broken PS4 support and lousy PSN support? PASS.......
Give me full PS game brand support with scan line options and other filter options for older games and handheld games and I would be happy to give a damn about modern gaming again....
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

They believe they deserve another bite at the cherry... because they can (in this digitised world).
It's arguable they would get us to pay each time we played... like in the good old arcade days.

Well written, except I would change "would" to should. As far as "would" is concerned some sort of bribery should work.
Its a lot easier being righteous than right.
