I have tried to make a copy of my NCAA 2005 with no success. I have a slide card in my ps2. I use game shark to loads them. The game starts to load and the screen goes black but the game never loads. I use DVD decrypted and DVD clone2. I have tried twice and the same result both times. The second one I burned I did it at 1x speed. Any suggestions, don't want to make anymore costars.

Thanks

have you tried using your orignal as a toc disc to see if the backup will load with it if it does then its most likly a toc problem and try using a different disc as a toc refresh disc

I had the same problem (black screen on boot with game shark -> CDLOADER -> TOC ps2 game -> backup) , then I did this: game shark -> swap magic -> TOC disc (grand turismo) -> NCAA2005 FB backup. THe game loads and I start a game.. then it freezes after the 1st or 2nd play!!! Any ideas? I've burned three different copies.. used Nero, Alcohol, then Decrypter.

I am having the same problem! Here is the breakdown

-ver4 board
-gameshark2
-dvd decrypter
-ps2nfo
-gta3 (for toc)

Ok, so I did this the EXACT same way I do any other game. I made ISO with DVD Decrypter, patched with ps2nfo for online part of the game, burned back to dvd-r using DVD Decrypter.

Bootup gameshark 2 and have that one game selected that generates too many codes. When gameshark boots and is at the main screen, I hit eject and place in gta 3 because it has a large toc. After it spins up, I select start game, with codes, hit x to get the error "too many codes." This makes the disc stop spinning. I then backup and go again this time with codes off. When it says to hit x to start game, I use the knife method to take out the gta3 disc I use for toc and place in ncaa 2005 dvd backup. I hit x and everything is normal... it acts like it is going to load, but it just goes to the black screen.

Could it be gta3 has a smaller toc than ncaa 2005? How could I test this. I would like to get this working without having to purchase swapmagic or anything of the like.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Doug

I had this problem with the black screen after boot, but my sequence was as follows:
1) gameshark2 , start game , without codes
2) Slide card to open unit, insert cdloader, press X
3) eject cdloader, put in Grand Turismo3 (TOC), X
4) Once TOC refreshed, Slide Card to open, insert backup, press X.

After this I tried using a SwapMagic3.0 cd (burned from ISO) in place of the cdloader. Now the game loads fine, but one the first play (usually right when the quarter back say "hike" the first time) the game freezes!!

yea, this really sucks. I think my first problem is I don't have a large enough TOC.

I'm using a Neo 2 with Gameshark and have the same problem. Boots then the eternal black screen. It's not the TOC because I have tried the original for the TOC. I've always burned with Nero with no probs, so my last effort is to try DVD Decrypter and see what happens. I need to figure this out, I know Madden will be the same.

DVD Decrypter did not make a difference. Same result. Has anyone been able to successfully boot this game using a gameshark? Seems like everyone who gets it working has a swapmagic or no swap mod. This blowz.

try Nero, goto disk copy, select dvd, and deselect copy on the fly. do disk read at 4x and write speed at 2x. also finalize the disk. this gave me a perfect backup of 2005. i had serious jitter problem with decrypter so i have stopped using it to backup.

remember to switch your setting by selecting the select button.."correct me if i'm wrong or out of line..Mode 1...mode 2 ... mode 3.. Ea games are usually set with "mode 3"..
hope that helped...!

LLSMUVG, in which prog are are referring to? In Nero, I've never had to change anything prior to this.

what are you guys talking about using TOC's or whatever? I have flip-top and Swap Magic Disks and I just copied and burned the iso of NCAA Football 2005 with DVD Decryptor and-->
-loaded up swap magic DVD
-inserted backup of NCAA Football 2005 at the insert disk screen
-pressed X
And my backup plays basically just as good as my original except the disk(I think) always makes weird noises when its loading stuff and at the play selection screen, a solution to that problem would be greatly appreciated(the noises also occur with Spilinter Cell 2, which are my only backed up games so far, lol).

(btw, why do most of you use the Swap Magic CD to boot DVD games?)

mefreekee, it might be you version of ps2 or bad media but i have successfully backed up madden 2005 and ncaa 2005. i used Nero disk copy with 4x read 2x write and got a perfect working copy. i am not swapping i am chipped so there are no other solutions i can think of if it doesnt deal with Nero. good luck.

also, i backup driv3r with decrypter and it works but is jittery. then used it with hd loader and have no problems, perhaps that is the solution you need kayweezy.

mefreekee, had the same problem with NCAA 2005. Copied it several times with different programs, at different speeds. Just didn't work with Gameshark. I got Swapmagic, and all of the copies I made worked. Must be something with Gameshark.
