Releasing after the Galaxy S4 with lower specs and a lower OS. Yeah, it'll succeed.

right, S4 will get KLP soon and with 2600 mAh, it is definitely better in battery life. and, i am sure samsung will keep a compelling price for S4. therefore, if you are not metal-freak, you may not want HTC at all. oh well, non-US folks are getting octa-core, too...

Some of the specs are lower, some not. The S4 has a pixel density of 441, for example, while the One has 468 (which makes sense, because it has the same resolution but a smaller screen). It's close enough, that other features (size/form factor, aesthetics, and so on) will also come to play. For instance, many people DO NOT want a "phablet", as the Galaxy S/Note series has been moving towards.
Premature stentorian pronouncement of fail, fails xD ...

I'm drawn towards a phablet.
I'm still astonished that the PSP Vita is not a phone too.
Its a lot easier being righteous than right.

{Insert lascivious image of man approaching a 6" phone that is lying in a provacative pose on a bed here} *bow-chicka-WOW-wow* xD
I'm not trying to say phablets are a bad idea, or even that I dislike them myself. But I DO know that there's a significant number of people who can't stand them ^^' .
It just bothers me a little when people poop all over a product that quite obviously isn't crap, before even a prototype has been reviewed, much less handled by the poo-er. Sure, there's every possibility it will be inferior to the S4. But guess what? There's every possibility it will not.
It's rampant. Just check out any thread on any forum re: the Ouya, or for that matter any of the other new and/or up-and-coming consoles; Sony, Nintendo, and M$ get exactly the same "love". So many comments are nothing but doom, gloom, and gnashing of teeth, it's like reading a Greek tragedy, without the funny bits -.-' . But the secret is: NO ONE REALLY KNOWS. Even if someone *does* actually tell you the truth, there's no way for the average consumer to know that for sure; it ends up being useless noise, not data.
Yes, the worst rumors may be right, and if so, just don't buy any product that doesn't deserve to live. It's that easy. Honest. And if all those gloomy predictions are wrong, well, great! You get to buy your {insert obsessed-over item here} and enjoy it, as well as save yourself the stomach upset and stress of arguing when there's no way for anyone to "win".

Oooo baby, that "touch" is phab-ulous. :P
It's true, the nay-sayers are more voluminous too. Good example with the OUYA Boz. There is enormous interest in it, something I backed on KS, but almost all you hear is poo-pooing from pessimists who seem deliberately intent on playing miss-the-point.
Its a lot easier being righteous than right.
