Nexus 5 to focus on camera and battery life?

According to sources, Google will use the Nexus 5 to focus on the camera and battery life, not continuing the ongoing race to have the biggest, largest resolution display.

i really don't understand why mobile phone makers are not focusing on "phone" features like call quality, speakerphone capability, and of course, battery life.
show me a single smartphone that has all of the above that can be rated as 5 stars.

Never had a problem with call quality on any of my droids, or the speaker phone and ive never had to cough cough hold them properly to get signal, lolz. Until operators all adopt hd call codecs there really isnt much that can be improved. As for battery life, some users want a slim and light phone, so many companies try and keep them happy as todays batteries on go so far, given the space and weight allowed for them. That said the likes of samsung and others understand having a battery cover and the ability to replace/upgrade the stock cell is also important to many users. Slapped a 4300mah in mine, ok its a bit bigger, but to me runtime is more important!
Sadly something htc has forgot in recent years.

Check out the new Blackberry Z10. It is by far the best cel phone on the market yet. Add E-mail ability to your list too. The Z10 makes the rest look pathetic.

It has E-mail ability that is far superior to either a buggy Android or outdated I phone (I have a I phone as well).

But i fail to see what it offers anything over the stock ics+ android mail clinet (android has two if you include gmail), well apart from it appears to be missing droids rgb color selector for the font, or an option for scheduled sending or encryption in the video..?!?!
As for buggy haha, ive used droids for years and ive never seen or had an issue with the mail clinet, what r u on about.
So your selling point is it has features all previous bb were lacking..?!?! But seriously for once im with apple, i dont care about being able to change my font/color on a mobile device, if i need to write a serious email i would use a desktop/laptop, i mostly use it like an im client on the phone.

It is obvious from your comments that you either don't understand how poor regular cel phones are with E-mail or just use your phone as a toy. Try a Z10 and you might appreciate how serious a phone the Z10 is.

From your response its obvious you are a bb fan and have never used a recent droid and are refering to stock iphone mail client or older crack berrys hah toy, no, just if im writing a long email i want a full sized keyboard.. no come back to the 3 features your still missing, shame. :-(
I know its probably all a bit new to you as its the first phone you have had with a proper rich text/html mail client, but seriously the most of us have already been there, dont that, yawn.

Well I guess you think you know everything so I'll not try to confuse you with facts and by the way I have used recent Androids and they are still buggy. After 40 years in Telecommunications, I have a fair understanding of cel phone technology.

Good luck with that, ive still not seen any bugs on the droid mail client, never have.

droids? sorry, outdated (for me, at least). speakerphones in droids are okay, not awesome.

BB10 has long way to go. the new Z10 is design-wise good, function-wise, ordinary. call/email/sms are not the only things that i want to do in a phone now-a-days. BB is inferior to iOS/android as a "smartphone".

Yeah maybe some of the older droids speakers were a little weak, my htc bravo wasnt great, then again it wasnt bad, surprisingly it got better after upgrading the battery and battery door (which left a gap above the battery) which helped with the bass. Bhut can this really be said about the htc and the s3 for example, i think not.
Yes older droids are out dated, but i fail to see much diffirence in many places between ios and android, ics+ pretty much was the first time i say a few ios fans admit droid was now on par, a few have confessed post jb its better in a few places.
But lets not go down the outdated road, ios is long overdue a facelift surely, not to mention the waining intrest and slipping share price.

Any speculation on the release/announcement date for the Nexus 5? I would expect it to be announced around November/December 2013. Just ordered the Nexus 4 and I'll be damned if it comes out in the next 6 months.
