No, we didn't consider it," Sony president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, told Game Informer magazine. "The main reason being that many countries don't have robust Internet connections. ROFL...sure, you didn't consider it...that's why you ducked the question for months and months...because you were not even considering it. As for requiring occasional internet connection that will use tons of bandwidth while it is on, I'm sure you are not even considering that either.

"The main reason being that many countries don't have robust Internet connections. It makes sense for people to have Internet connections to play online games, but for offline games there are many countries that we saw [that] do not really have robust Internet."

Translation: We would screw you if we could... but its just not possible to screw everyone equally quite yet.

Good looks Like I'm heading back to play-station after all these years, my connection is so unstable(countryside lacks in connection, with no fiber broadband in the area) and slow I could not leave it on all day for xbox silly feature.
Plus downloading games would take weeks, I stick to my discs.

Still didn't answer the bigger and more important question of play once games and locking games to a console to keep people from selling games or having a used game market.

sigh it was confirmed that none of the rumors are true..
didn't you all didn't watch Sony's direct this year? seems not

1. No internet to play those games offline.
2. 2nd handed games are allowed because Sony stated that they want us to take the game to friend house to play it there.
3. Sony stated that they might or might not charge to play online on the PS4 or might have different plan like PSPlus or play online package and if you want more out of it, then you can upgrade to psplus as well etc...
