Help Me back-up my games! What to do with a V9 with magic pro.

I have a V9 Ps2 with a magic pro modchip installed.
I have never done this before and need to know: What kind of Dvd to use, wat programs to use, and basically the don'ts. I keep hearing about not being able to back-up or use the games and frankly, i dont know what i'm doing.

first off, get yourself a copy of alcohol 120%, this is probly the most simple software for a novice, the default settings are fine with alcohol, as far as dvd's go I always use datwrite classics, they are now using the ritek dye and are very cheap (£8 for 25 discs on ebuyer)I have not had one bad burn yet, remember always burn at 1-2x no faster, shut down as much of the crap running in the background as you can bfore burning, and I'm not sure about your mod chip, but you may need cd/dvdloader, so get hold of them too

I used Alcohol 120% with TDK DVD+r's at a speed of 4x (since they did not allow me to go any lower). The first time i booted it, it said please insert a PS2 format disc, but after i pushed reset, it worked perfectly. Any explanation?

here's the bootup methods for your mod chip
With the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed:

- For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required.

- For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

- For turn OFF/SLEEP, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the logo/sounds comes on; then release RESET and the Magic Pro will be OFF/SLEEP.

- Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode (PS1/PS2/DVD)
