Planning manager for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Kinect, Albert Penello, has said that focusing on Xbox One and PS4 specs is meaningless to the next generation of gaming.

Translation: "We can't match the PS4's specs, so we have this bushel of buzzwords that will hopefully make you forget all about that." If you believe this exec's BS, then why not add those very same features to the XBox 360? Why introduce the XBone at all?! Answer: Because the 360 simply does not have enough power to play the next generation of video games, that simple. Specs DO matter.
No, raw power isn't everything, but nor do I particularly care about "instant switching" or the cloud. Meh.
The XBone is the 1st console that costs more than an arguably equivalent (self-built) PC or a laptop. That's a serious mistake, in my opinion. If I can build an HTPC that not only plays media and games, but lets me install any damn thing I want at roughly the same price (and is easily and cheaply UPGRADEABLE in the future), what use is your console..? The answer is self-evident to me.
Specs are worthless if you don't have anything to push them,or compare them in action. I will most likely have both systems, but the only way to see the real difference is to take a multi-platform game and play it on both. my guess is it will be similar enough not to matter.

That really will only be the case in the first couple years of these consoles lives. Once programmers start pushing the boundaries of these systems it will be clear that the extra power is noticeable.
lets see here it isn't going to matter that bungie is producing a game for ps4 it isn't going to matter that oddworld is going back to the playstation with new and tasty and it doesn't matter the only games you have for the launch of the console are worthless titles that are basically third party junk.
And this is exactly why I have a PS, PS2, two PS3s, two PS Vitas, and will have the PS4. That would be because Sony doesn't try to tell me what I care about.

That's why I hope the new console is a bust. Really, this explains the whole debacle at their coming out party.
I don't own either console, just following the news and events and debating rather or not to buy one and which one. But as time goes by and the more I hear and read stuff like this from an manufacturer.......anyway, this sways me over to PS4 for sure, no more wavering for me. When I decide to bite the bullet it Will Be PS4! But hey, he already knew that didn't he!

Maybe specs wouldn't matter if your console cost the same as the competition, however yours is $100 more. I could buy a PS4 and a couple of games for the price of your box.
