I normally download movies as RAR files and extract them using WinRAR, but I recent received a movie that is in NTSC format and I don't know how to make it into an image, so that I can burn it to a dvd. Can someone help? What software do I need etc.

They should just be .RAR files with a weird file extension. Check this page for more information.

Can someone who HAS receved the xpd-sm2tc-NTSC files respond and let the rest of us know if it (and what) worked.
-zyzzyx
P.S. I haven't started receiving it yet, or else I would have tried it. I'm not going to start receiving until I get confirmatin that it (and what) worked. -hehe

I too downloaded the spiderman 2 movie and had no idea what the files were. I figured it out after a half hour. The files are not xpd file. XPD is the group of people who are taking credit for pirating the movie. What you want to do is take the first file which was xpd-sm2tc-ntsc.oo1 and right click on it. Rename it to that name and write .rar at the end of it. Now go into winrar and extract that file. It will extract all the files you have and it make the final file a 4 gig file that is an .img file. Now open Nero and close the wizard. Click on RECORDER and then BURN IMAGE. At the bottom of the drop down arrow it will show .iso files and something else. Change that to ALL FILES and then pick the .IMG file. Burn that file and you will have the movie. It will create the VIDEO_TS file for you. I just did this today and the movie is a great copy with menus and everything. I was pissed at first and thought I wasn't going to figure it out.
I just took my email address out and I don't know if the mods want to remove the whole post. I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. Just trying to help people out. I am not posting sites for movie downloads.

I'm afraid you are breaking quite a few rules with this thread. I suspect it has gone this far because the mods were busy with something else and didn't pay attention for now. I suggest also that you do not advertise your Email addresses here in the forum. Bad idea. You can still edit it.

Siber, what rules have been broken here? Afterdawn.com has nothing but tutorials on how to rip movies, resize them and burn them onto dvd-r. All these people are asking is how to extract something that they downloaded. I simply explained it to them. There is no illegal trading of movies, and no posting of websites to get illegal movies. Were you a hall monitor in school by any chance? lol

If you had read the rules you'd be able to answer that yourself.

every person on this thread that isa admitting to downloading spiderman 2 is in gross violation of the forum rules since obviously spiderman 2 isn't on DVD yet, and even if it was you cant discuss downloading it. since I'm in a lazy mood i wont ban each and every one of you at this time, but consider this your only warning.
