Pay $1500 to be able to buy the phone at $600 on top? You can pick up faster and bigger phones and tablets for cheaper.
Linux isn't going to be a great IS at the start because there won't be any apps for it.
Well to start with, it cost 830$. It will be releasing a year from now with which ever highest multi-core processor is out at the time of release. Will have at least 4gb of ram, which means it could have more. 4gb is already beyond what any phone has. And it has 128gb onboard memory, way beyond what any phone has.
It runs a full linux distro, so none of that app based crap you're talking about. And at least for people like me who use linux, that's great. You can use it as a desktop pc when connected to any screen. And it dual boots android.
I also personally hate these large screens that are coming out. And hate samsungs plasticity cheap feel. This damns things made of metal and un-scratchable screen.

I'd take the specs with a grain of salt, to be honest.
It'll probably be an nvidia or intel CPU at best, seeing as Samsung generally keep their stuff for their devices, you have snapdragon but with them doing the CPUs for a ton of devices already I don't think they'll be wanting to make CPUs for a handful of devices on the side.
4gig isn't all that big in android the default is already 2gig and some phones are 4gig already, LG for example, they where the first with 2gig program memory to speed up their phones and have all their devices 2gig now, their new devices are moving to or are 4gig now.
LTE could be old by next year and LTE-A which is "5G" even though all the "G" mobile network spec's have been scraped now, LTE-A doesn't allow for any 3G or LTE devices to work on this mobile network spec.
Everything else is either standard spec or old spec like the camera.
It uses a linux phone OS you need to connect it to a Tv to use the linux desktop OS going to be hard to do that if your on the train or park.
