Hi everyone. I am new to 360 modding but not new to modding in general at all. I've done hard mods and soft mods. I've been looking into 360 modding for years now and never felt safe about it until a friend of mine was telling me about abgx verified the other day. SO I want to actually mod my Xbox 360 Elite but I don't know what the best mod to use these days is. I've been looking around getting many different answers and I wanted to ask here because I know a lot of you are very knowledgable about this stuff. Whats the best way to go about doing this I appreciate any help at all and if you guys need more info let me know. I have an earlier elite with the (jasper i believe) inside it. Anything else you need let me know. I'm just looking to mod it the best and safest way possible so I can play burned ISO's. Thanks

Okay so I'm home now so heres a little more info. I do have a desktop that I will be using and I do have imgburn already installed. I will need to buy another burner that is compatible with burnermax. I have no problem buying everything I just need to know what I need to buy. I found out that my drive type is a Philips Lite-on DG-16D2S. If you could send me some links of what exactly I will need to buy even a burner that is compatible I really appreciate it. From what I've been researching jungleflasher is the way to go for most people I just don't know what I would have to buy to use it because their website leads to a lot of broken links. I tried reading the starter guide but it is no longer available. I appreciate all the help and thanks for all the links you provided me I'm currently reading them now.

UPDATE: Okay so I ordered my drive I picked the Sony Optiarc plus because of the ease of burning i got the ck3 mini and the probe 3. I will be using my motherboard to power the sata and I researched it and discovered it is compatible for flashing 360's. Now what's the latest/best tutorial out there that I can follow to flash my lite-on drive?

Look at the junglefasher link i provided download the software and there should be a ADOBE tutorial within the download.Read till your eyes bleed and follow the flow chart without skipping,Rinse and repeat..Also bear in mind if you are not using a x360 usb v1 then make sure you have a compatible chipset on your motherboard. Here is a link to the list of chipsets you can use.

I just need to check out the PDF you referred me to and read over it a couple of times before I get my stuff in the mail. I have another question. Is it completely necessary to backup the game to your HDD to make it playable or can you just pop the disc in and play. If it is necessary could you explain to me how to do it as I have never installed a game to my HDD before.

You can just place the disc in and play, however i have a large HDD and install my games. The reasoning behind this is just to help the lifecycle of my laser as backup discs are a little harder to read than originals.Insert your disc press x for details and install to your HDD.There is also a slight increase in access speed when running from a HDD.
