Phys,

Take a minute to look at that last link I posted. Also do what bigorange suggested "changing the target size to 4300"(we do this so we don't burn to the edge). To do this:
Quote:
under edit>preferences>target dvd size>custom-type in 4300.
And when Shrink is open, you'll see a green bar(if it's red it won't fit). If you see red, check your audio selections(you don't need both AC3 and DTS). I keep all AC3 and make sure DTS is unchecked.

Flip

I read the excellent post you told me to read.. but there's a part i don't understand and can't find..
Here it is:

Now, take just a second and under ?Target Device? go to ?Select target device? once there, select ?ISO Disc Image?. NEXT, IMPORTANT, tick ?Launch DVD Decrypter to burn the output image? box. Finally, where it says ?Select target image file?, browse till you find your created folder for your backup and click ?Save?. That?s it ! Click ?OK? and DVD Shrink burns that ISO image to your HD. It then opens DVD Decrypter and has it burn the ISO image to your waiting blank DVD.

I can't find those things, if you know, please tell me where it is

Thanks a lot for your help, i really appreciate

You will see this when you click "backup!"

Some will create a folder for their backups. I do have one but don't change any settings. By default, Shrink will put either a video_ts file or a ISO image in you local disk. From there I cut and paste into my backups folder(titled "my movies")

Okay thanks

One last thing.. u told me to remove DTS and keep AC3.. but there are AC3 only but i still have some red in the bar of DVD Shrink.. the target size is at 4360 Mb as ScubaPete said.. but it's not enough..

Can i write 4500 as target size in DVD Shrink? If i do this.. i will be able to click "backup" without having the message which says something like :"no room enought.. might have difficulties to burn.. etc."

by default Shrink sets 4464 as the size, and that's pretty much burning to the edge. What dvd is this?

hmmm ... did you remove all other languages? That might help. And make sure compression is set to automatic.

Or, if you use surround sound. Keep the 5.1 and remove the 2 channel. And maybe burn to a RW to test :)

Okay i was able to burn 4 dvd-r from now on without problems. I used Shrink to encode and DvdDecrypter to burn.. And flip. remember i was talking about two similar thing on the Dvd i was burning ? well i removed one of them and it works perfectly =)

Though.. when i arrived on the 5th movie, shrink gave me this message while the analyse : "Copy protection error" "Shirnk cannot continue". Someone knows what to do with this please?

Oh and, just as an information, what does DVD means. Each letter is a different word? For example SWAT means Special Weapons And Tactics.
Thanks a lot

Try ripping with DVD Decrypter first. Then open the ripped file with Shrink. This makes the process a little longer.

Never mind about that that thing with Dvd shrink, "the protection message". I solved my problem by downloading the new version of DVD Shrink

DTS:
Digital Surround Sound.

Do you use surround sound?

Wow this is fast post. You're everywhere at the same time man hahaha =)

Yeah sometimes i use surround but i get the results i want with AC3. By default, Shirnk removes the DTS, is it because of the quality or because it is less used?
